About this policy

This policy explains how LANCELOT, operated by Lance Botha (ABN 95 170 038 475), a consultancy based in Cairns, Queensland, handles personal information collected through this website. It covers website data only. Client project data is handled under the terms agreed for each engagement. We aim to handle personal information in a way that is consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Information we collect

When you submit an enquiry, we collect the details you choose to provide, which may include:

  • your name and email address
  • your organisation, if you choose to include it
  • the challenge you selected, if any, and the message you write

Our hosting provider also processes standard technical information, such as IP addresses and browser details, to deliver and secure the website. On the live site we use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views in aggregate. It doesn't use cookies and we don't use it to identify you.

How we use it

We use enquiry information only to respond to you, to discuss potential work and to keep a record of our correspondence. We don't sell personal information. Sending an enquiry doesn't sign you up to any marketing.

Third-party services

This website is hosted on Vercel. Enquiries submitted through the form are passed to an email delivery service (Resend) so they reach our inbox. These providers may store or process information outside Australia.

Storage and security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, and we retain enquiry information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes above or as required by law.

Access and correction

You can ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by contacting us through the contact form.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be published on this page.
